ALL FIRED UP

Hey y'all! It's 8:55 p.m. Sunday evening as I write this. It's been a hectic this weekend. Let me just give you a few key words here: flat tire, flat spare, no cell phone. When I finally got access to a phone to call a tow truck, the thing never shows up! So I put a can of fix-a-flat in the spare (I put a can in the tire, but the damage was too bad), and drove home on some heavy prayers!

Now I know that doesn't have squat to do with wrestling, but I felt like ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER on a bad day when I got home!

I've been liking the indies lately! Independent promotions. I believe it is becoming the rebirth of the territories. And the indies have some great wrestlers too. For instance, Slyk Wagner Brown and April Hunter are hot right now. Ricky Murdoch nearly defeated Jeff Jarrett for the NWA championship. A tag team to keep an eye on is The Border Patrol. I am very impressed with them. And we can't forget Stro!

I've also been intrigued with "wrestling names." Most wrestlers do not go by their real names. A handful do, most don't. I grew up with names like Tommy "Wildfire" Rich, Junkyard Dog, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, Big Cat Ernie Ladd, Super Destroyers 1, 2 and 3...the list goes on.

Judging by wrestling names now, today's wrestlers must be a whole different breed of animal! For instance, there is a wrestler who goes by the name of Bad Medicine. What do you say when you want an autograph? "Bad, can I have your autograph?" or "May I have your autograph, Mr. Medicine?" Bet you just don't call this guy by his initials!

Then there's a wrestler who calls himself Dookie Grande. Don't ask. There is The Inhuman Fly (of course flies are not human), Kid Pinky (pinky?), Gravedigger, Psycho...those two sound like amusement park rides.

Then there is the one that I'd really like to get a look at, judging from what he calls himself....Creeping Death. That names conjures up all sorts of things in my head!
Now, no one needs to get upset, I'm just havin' a little fun! We're looking at the superstars of tomorrow here. Long after Ric Flair had faded from the scene, when Goldberg has speared his last, when the Outsiders would rather stay inside...these are going to be big names. These are going to be THE wrestlers to watch. The names may change, but these are going to be the guys wrestling fans are going to thrill over, say, in ten years.
Let me throw a few more at ya. Brass Monkey. American Steel Ninja. Xsiris (say that once normally, let alone three times fast). Morbid (must be Creeping Death's cousin). Ouga Bouga. And you've also got your garden variety of Andersons, Von Erichs, Storms, etc., etc., etc!

Did you ever fall asleep while typing at the computer? Well I did! It's now 6:58 p.m. on Monday evening (no, I've not been sleeping at the computer all night and all day). Now I don't want to talk about outrageous wrestling monikers.

I have to give major props to Chris Harris. I just found out that he wrestled the match against Jeff Jarrett last Wednesday night with a case of the flu! Chris is one heck of an athlete and one of the best workers in NWA TNA. If you didn't catch that match, I strongly urge you to catch one of the replays. And if you miss it still, as America's Most Wanted would say, sorry about your damn luck!

I got my tickets for the March 6th March of Dimes benefit show in Johnson City, Tennessee. Can't wait for that! The main event is (once again) Chris Harris vs. Jeff Jarrett, and this time it IS for the NWA title. I am urging everyone who can to attend. You can find out more about it by visiting the website of Liberty Championship Wresting or email me and I will give you the pertinent info.

"Be who you are and say what you feel. Those who mind don't matter and those who matter won't mind."
