Hello people. Man, the
weather is finally starting to warm up! I thought spring time would never get here! This
has been such a long winter. Sunny warm days always makes me a happy camper. It feels good
to wear shorts again outside.
Aside for the "splits" and " brands" of
television land, the independant wrestling scene has been going strong as the warmer
months approach. The indy scene has been for the most part a positive experience. Of
course , like any other place, there are always a select few with delusions of granger and
think they are ceos or superstars of a big conglomerate company. You know, some
independant shows where there are quite a few imitations or imitators of what or whom you
see on television. Although it is smart in one aspect to attempt to follow a successful
formula, it is on the other wise to be more original with your product and to stand out as
such.
A lot of the great names and companies in the wrestling business
were based on just that, originality and believability. The Crocketts used it during the
Mid-Atlantic NWA wrestling area as well as Vince McMahon did in the 80s and early 90s to
revive their respected companies and make them successful. No matter what era , this
formula is time tested and proves that time after time again people want to believe.
Sure it's "sports entertainment", sure it has a lot of
drama these days, but bottom line is that people still want to be entertained and believe
in an original product.
Thank you guys for taking the time to read my column. Until next
time, take care and GOD bless
